Terms

Last updated: 2026-04-29.

By installing and using PayCashu you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the wallet.

Self-custody

PayCashu is a self-custody wallet. We never have access to your funds, your seed phrase, or your private keys. We cannot move your funds, freeze them, or recover them on your behalf. If you lose your seed and your device, your funds are unrecoverable.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for backing up your recovery phrase, for protecting the device that holds it, and for verifying every transaction before signing. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. Mistyped addresses, mistyped amounts, and malicious clipboard hijackers are your risk to manage.

No warranty

The wallet is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the software is bug-free, secure against every adversary, or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the wallet.

Risk of using crypto

Bitcoin and Liquid asset prices are volatile. Lightning channels can fail, force-close, or lose routing fees. Layer-two protocols may have undiscovered bugs. You assume all of this risk yourself. Nothing in the app or on this site is investment advice.

Boltz swaps

Cross-layer swaps in PayCashu are routed through Boltz, an independent third-party submarine-swap service. Boltz operates its own servers and sets its own fees. We do not control Boltz and are not responsible for its uptime, fees, or behavior. Using a swap means accepting Boltz's terms in addition to ours.

Trademarks

"PayCashu", the wordmark, and the brand assets in /brand are trademarks of the PayCashu project. You may reference the project by name in editorial and educational contexts. You may not use the brand to imply endorsement, build a competing product under the same name, or mislead users about the source of software you distribute.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state where the project is incorporated (TBD — likely Portugal). Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the last revision. Continued use of the wallet after a revision means you accept the new terms.
